We are delighted to report on the progress of Milly Davies (Year 10) and Maddy Wray (Year 11), who competed for their club Southgate at the U16 Girls Hockey National Cup Finals, held at the Olympic Park in early April.  

Southgate had an amazing competition, fighting to the end in each of the three pool
matches. Milly scored three goals in the first two matches, whilst Maddy, who
captained
the team, scored the most dramatic goal, with literally two seconds to go,
that secured Southgate the top position in their pool and a place in the
finals. Sadly, it wasn’t to be the dream finish, but they were more
than happy with their silver medals.

In fact,
it’s been an amazing season for the team, with the loss in the final
being their only loss of 2015/16 to date. They have the Home Counties
Girls’ Premier League semis and finals over the weekend of 16-17 April, and we can but hope
for another medal…
