Japanese
Japanese is a popular option from Year 7 onwards at Queenswood. Pupils gain an understanding of the language in a variety of contexts and genres, developing an awareness of the traditional yet modern society, set against its cultural background and heritage.
At GCSE and A-Level, pupils continue to acquire knowledge, skills and understanding of the Japanese language and culture for practical use, further study and/or employment – enabling them to communicate clearly and confidently in the language for a range of purposes.
We have close ties to the Konan School in Kobe, and offer regular study visits to Japan for students of the language.
